Countdown to Plano Fashion Week Part 2
Plano Fashion Week (PFW) is making a grand return to the Dallas area during the week of August 1-4, 2018. Festivities wil begin with the annual Model Search on Saturday, June 16, 2018 and end with the Big Night Fashion Show on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018. The upcoming Model Search will take place at the Aveda Institute Dallas located at The Shops at Park Lane (8188 Park Ln. Ste. 150, Dallas, Texas, 75231) from 1-4 p.m. All aspiring and experienced models are encouraged to attend, including female and male models along with children of all ages. Attire is all white t-shirt or tank top with jeans. Female models need to wear heels, however, no makeup, wigs or accessories.
Creator and Executive Producer of PFW 2, Brandon D. Campbell, offered great advice to models that will be attending the PFW 2 Model Search next week:
"A key component that could help a model trying out for PFW 2 is the attribute of following direction. We ask in our ad for
models to present themselves in a certain manner that is industry when models attend casting calls and go-sees. We want to see how good they are at it. I've always believed a good model is one who can take directions and be trusted to do what is right."
Aveda Institute Dallas will be an official venue sponsor for both PFW 2 Model Search and the Big Night Fashion Show. The original PFW was held at a downtown venue in the Plano area. Campbell explains his decision to move the 2nd annual Plano Fashion Week to Dallas:
"I decided to have Plano Fashion Week 2 in Dallas due to my long lasting relationship with Aveda Institute through the years. Also, Aveda agreed to be an official venue sponsor, plus it is a beautiful facility. Our models come from all over Texas and surrounding states, so I don't think it being in Dallas will take away from the celebration of Plano and North Texas communities."
The PFW 2 Big Night Fashion Show is going to amaze guests this year. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the Big Night Fashion Show will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
"Participants can expect an enhanced experience," said Campbell. "Also, PFW 2 will be supporting Breast Cancer Research. A portion of the profits from ticket sales will assist me in achieving the goals with giving back to women battling this despicable disease and presenting a first class fashion experience."
Campbell is ecstatic about the upcoming 2nd annual Plano Fashion Week and the warm welcome the event has gotten.
"I am happy with the reception it’s received and support means a lot and it's motivation for me to continue to develop it
for the people."
Plano Fashion Week 2 will be a wonderful experience for the models that are selected to participate. One lucky model will win Model of the Year, earn a modeling contract, merchandise and a cash prize. It's exciting! Seeing fashionweek foretell the state of our fashionable future while we, the consumers, await patiently for the results. Okay, so perhaps it's not that exciting. However, nonetheless, very intriguing. Each season, we often see celebrities, magazines, and blogs confirm this fashionweek foretold future, dubbing them "trends".
Trends. It's what's hot, what's new (recycled new), and what's now. If you're just now becoming conscious of your wardrobe, color schemes, and the way you put yourself together, then you may feel the need to begin with what's trending. In fact, you may feel fashionably inadequate if you aren't able to nail the latest trends and buy the latest "hot" brands. Well, there's good news for you after all.
Fashion is an awesome thing, but almost a basic thing. It's almost like separate ingredients that have yet to be mixed. No flavor, no "wow" factor (just yet). The excitement comes in with style. Style is the very thing that overrides fashion. It's what you do with those ingredients that make all the noise.
Our personal style is what separates us from the rest of the crowd. It's a science, an art, and a subtle yet stricking form of communication. Unarguably important. Personal style needn't be fancy, popular, or common. It just needs to be authentically you. If you're having a bit of trouble building your personal style, read on for four simple tips to defining your personal style.
